You will get to know the ancient city of Herculaneum, a small coastal town in Campania, halfway between Naples and Pompeii.
Legend attributes the foundation of Herculaneum to Hercules. With the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD the city was completely submerged by the volcanic mud river that poured out. The ash mixed with the water that has solidified has determined an absolutely original conservation phenomenon that has allowed us to return finds of organic vegetables, fabrics, furnishings and parts of wooden buildings but also the upper floors of the buildings.
After seeing Herculaneum our expert drivers will accompany you to the Cantine del Vesuvio. Visitors will be able to enjoy the wonderful silence that surrounds them and will be able to eat the best traditional local foods such as bread, cheeses and salami and the delicious durum wheat pasta comes from the historic "Pastificio Setaro". A wonderful lunch with the tasting of different wines and grappas.
